Speakers’ Profiles



Prior to the current position as Citi Country Officer (CCO) for the Philippines, he was the CCO/ CEO for Hungary and Region Head for Hungary and the Balkan and Baltic Regions in Central & Eastern Europe.

Aftab’s extensive international career with the Bank spans across 11 countries. He has held a number of senior roles at Citi senior roles included CCO/CEO for Egypt, Consumer Country Business Manager for Pakistan, Corporate Bank Head in New Zealand and O&T head for Citi in both Taiwan and Germany. He has also held senior cluster and regional roles including Director of Retail Branch Expansion & Operations for Citibank North America, Consumer Finance Head for Asia Pacific and Consumer Cluster Head for Pakistan, Middle East and Egypt.

Aftab believes that leadership is not just about leading people to achieve goals and deliver results, it is also about mentoring and contributing towards the growth and development of his team and others. Aftab is actively involved in experience and advice sharing interactive sessions with students and young professionals to help them enhance their leadership skills.

As Citi Philippines CCO, he has spearheaded the bank’s efforts to ensure that banking and service center facilities continue to operate throughout the community quarantine that was imposed in the Philippines since March of this year, and has taken measures to protect the well-being of its employees, clients and community through its three pillars: CARING FOR EMPLOYEES, BEING THERE FOR CLIENTS, MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY.

Darren is part of the Asia Pacific Leadership team. Working via the COO Office and with the ASPAC Board he looks to bring emerging technology solutions to clients to enable their digital transformation journey. Clients include those in Banking, Insurance, Life Sciences, Energy and Resource, Consumer. His area of focus includes Strategy, Transformation, Cyber Security, Data and Analytics and Cloud. He also leads the Asia Pacific Sector strategy which looks to prioritize key sectors in the markets in Asia Pacific. Working with the C-Suite to enable business transformation using technology via strategic programs, enabling implementations, fast prototyping and use case builds.

Darren has led key technology engagements in KPMG which cover Strategy, Data Migration, Cloud, Blockchain and use case builds. Prior to joining KPMG, Darren has 20 years of experience in Telecom / IT working in companies such as Orange Business Services, Verizon Business, Sprint International, Lucent Worldwide Services, Siemens, and Nortel. He had accomplished large technology and cloud projects across Asia Pacific includes leading major teams and governing structures for large deals.

Lt. General Sharma retired from the Indian Army in 2008, after four decades of an illustrious and brilliant career of selfless service to the nation. During his career he has seen active service in India and other countries and has held very critical and challenging appointments in higher echelons of defense management, including a diplomatic assignment in London as the Defense Attaché of India. He commanded the largest operational force in the world and led the logistics and administration of the 1.3 million strong Indian Army in his last assignment before retirement. A strong votary of sustainable and responsible development he has developed expertise in areas of environment, renewable energy and ecology. Gen Sharma now writes on national strategy and security issues and lectures business leaders on decision making, motivation and positivity. He is deeply committed and passionate about entrepreneurship and has helped and guided many start up companies to realize their potential.

With more than 20 years of experience in business intelligence and management consulting, Roger has a proven track record in areas that include market intelligence and brand research, feasibility studies, strategy consulting, internationalisation, family businesses and performance management. His global expertise in management consulting includes countries such as Brazil, China, Taiwan, Myanmar, India, Australia, USA, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Middle East and North Africa region, in the industries of agri-technology, logistics and transportation, marine and offshore, retail, food manufacturing, healthcare and biomedical, ICT and others.

Roger is often involve in public speaking engagements and on the judging panel for several business excellence awards in Singapore, he’s also the adjunct lecturer for various institutions in Australia, UK and Singapore.

Ms. Dung is a proven senior executive with 22 over years of experience across sectors ranging from Investment, Banking & Consumer Finance, Business Process Outsourcing. She has held leadership roles across Operations, Transition, Business Excellence, Transformation, Corporate Quality and Consulting. In her current role, she is the country leader of Concentrix Vietnam. Concentrix, is a technology-enabled global business services company specializing in customer engagement and helps companies better connect with their customers. In the past two years, Dung has grown Concentrix Vietnam from just a small team to 1200 employees, making it one of the fastest growing Companies in Vietnam.

Dung is an accomplished business leader who is passionate about customer experience, business transformation and strategy.  Her passion to deliver client and employee satisfaction together with successful business outcomes through her cross-functional knowledge and experience, gives her the edge and equips her to lead a large and extremely productive team. She firmly believes that building trust in teams is the key building block behind a successful company.

Sabrina has been working in the talent solutions industry across Asia Pacific for close to 15 years and is passionate about unlocking the potential of individuals in the workforce.

She founded half the sky – a career and headhunting platform connecting female professionals with equal opportunity employers. Through half the sky, Sabrina hopes to empower women in the workplace and level the playing field for women.

Currently resides in Singapore, Sabrina was born and raised in Hong Kong and educated in Hong Kong, New York and Beijing. Sabrina speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

In this role, Patricia oversees IBM’s regional operations which include sales and distribution, manufacturing, procurement, global delivery, and support functions covering the ASEAN markets.

As organisations strive to out-think challenges, competitors and limits, Patricia and her team focus on helping clients, partners, developers and start-ups transform by applying IBM’s leading AI/cognitive solutions, cloud platform, and industry capabilities.

Prior to this appointment, Patricia was ASEANPac General Manager for Philips Lighting from 2015-2018.

Patricia’s previous leadership roles at IBM include being the General Manager for Global Technology Services, IBM Greater China Group; the Vice President of Coverage & Geo Expansion at IBM Greater China Group; and Vice President of General Business and she is the first female leader to be appointed to this role. These regional roles honed Patricia’s skills in managing multicultural teams to deliver multibillion-dollar revenue.

When Patricia was the Country General Manager of IBM Singapore from 2004-2006, she helped establish IBM as an employer of choice and was appointed the Chairperson for the Worklife Balance Committee. And just recently, Patricia was inducted into the inaugural Singapore 100 Women In Tech initiative.

Joydeep Bose is the Managing Director and Global Head of Human Resources for Olam International Limited, headquartered in Singapore. Joydeep has been with the company since 2003, and over the years he has played a key role in the expansion of Olam growing from a privately held company with 2500 employees to a publicly listed company with more than 40,000 employees.

Joydeep has extensive experience in the Human Resources field having worked in industries including chemicals, technology, food and agriculture. His expertise is in the areas of organizational performance enhancement, transformational change and mergers & acquisitions. His earlier assignments included Human Resources consulting engagements with prestigious Fortune 100 companies in the US.

Joydeep plays an active thought leadership role in the Singapore human resources professional space. He has been a member of the HRD Workgroup of WDA, a Singapore government agency, working towards enhancing skills of Human Resource Professionals in the region. He was a member of the Singapore Ministry of Manpower’s HR Alliance and a member of Human Capital Leadership Institute’s CHRO Advisory Panel which comprises influential HR leaders from a wide range of industries. He is an invited member of the Educational Technology Alliance, a sub group of the Emerging Stronger Taskforce set up by the Government of Singapore to guide the country’s economic recovery from Covid-19.

Azlan Zainal Abidin was appointed as the Chief Enterprise Business Officer on 27 May 2019. Azlan brings with him over 22 years of experience in business management and operations, systems consulting, IT strategy and solution delivery in leading local and global organizations. 

Azlan previously served in IBM Malaysia as a Country Managing Partner for IBM Malaysia’s Global Business Services. Prior to joining IBM, Azlan was a Managing Director/Partner for Accenture Malaysia. He also had a stint with Malaysian Airports Berhad as the Head of Group Technology. From 2008 to 2012, Azlan was Celcom’s Vice President of IT Transformation. Azlan holds an MBA from Imperial College London, UK and a Bachelor of Commerce, Management Information Systems & Accounting from University of Virginia, USA.
